Loftus Leisure Centre
Found on Deepdale Road in Loftus, the Leisure Centre provides a great community centre from activity. In the leisure centre you will find two swimming pools, a sauna, steam room and spa, a 40 station gym, squash court and group exercise studio.
Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum
The Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum was founded in 1983 by a group of volunteers acutely aware that the remains of the ironstone mining industry, which had once formed the basis of Cleveland’s growth & prosperity, were rapidly being lost, forgotten or destroyed. As a result they set out to celebrate the heritage of that industry by the preservation, conservation and display of artifacts, photographs and documents relating to it.
Chris Birkbeck Rally School
Chris Birkbeck’s rally school on the edge of North Yorkshire has been providing rally driving experiences and rally experience gifts since 1990. Their privately owned venue is not an old airfield, but a purpose built test facility. Rally teams and Team Birkbeck, all test rally cars here prior to events. The surface is authentic gravel and includes high speed sections, hairpins to perect your handbrake technique and watersplashes on those wet days.
During the school summer holidays there is a childrens activity area and a reading challenge activity, with various awards in recognition of achievement.

Cycling in the Loftus area
Sustrans National cycle route 1 runs through Loftus and the North York Moors National Park
is a 20 minute ride away, with quiet lanes and rural setting immediately from the Town.

Klondike Elite Cycle Race
There will be an elite cycling event on Sunday 2nd April 2017, the event is the first of the spring season and will be a qualifying race for the Tour de Yorkshire, it is anticipated that 120 to 140 professional male cyclists will start from Guisborough Town Centre at 12 noon and follow 3 circuits of a figure of eight course through East Cleveland villages,
before returning to the finish at Guisborough. Anyone viewing the race along the section
from Carlin how to Station Road Loftus will see the race pass six times.

Klondike Grand Prix Professional Cycle Race 2018
There will be a Professional cycling event on Sunday 29th April 2018, this is the first event in the HSBC Spring Series, and a week before the Tour de Yorkshire, so we are expecting at least 140 professional riders.
The race starts from Guisborough Town Centre at 12 noon and follows 3 ciruits of a figure of eight course through East Cleveland villages, before returning to the finish at Guisborough. Anyone viewing the race along the section from Kilton Lane Carlin How to Station Road Loftus will see the race pass six times.

More than just reference books and novels, there is a computer suite and a private meeting room, there is often displays of the history of the area and numerous posters and leaflets of up and coming events including walking leaflets and bus and refuge collection timetables. There is free use of newspapers and computers, with facilities on site to print and laminate documents for a small fee. There are also disabled toilet facilities on site.
Citizens Advice is available on the 2nd and 4th thursday of the month and the family history group meet on Thursday afternoons.
