Loftus Leisure Centre

Found on Deepdale Road in Loftus, the Leisure Centre provides a great community centre from activity. In the leisure centre you will find two swimming pools, a sauna, steam room and spa, a 40 station gym, squash court and group exercise studio.

Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum, Land of Iron

The Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum was founded in 1983 by a group of volunteers acutely aware that the remains of the ironstone mining industry, which had once formed the basis of Cleveland’s growth & prosperity, were rapidly being lost, forgotten or destroyed. As a result they set out to celebrate the heritage of that industry by the preservation, conservation and display of artifacts, photographs and documents relating to it.

Chris Birkbeck Rally School

Chris Birkbeck’s rally school on the edge of North Yorkshire has been providing rally driving experiences and rally experience gifts since 1990. Their privately owned venue is not an old airfield, but a purpose built test facility. Rally teams and Team Birkbeck, all test rally cars here prior to events. The surface is authentic gravel and includes high speed sections, hairpins to perect your handbrake technique and watersplashes on those wet days.

Tees Valley Wildlife Trust is part of the influential UK-wide partnership of 47 Wildlife Trusts. The Trust has worked for more than 30 years to protect wildlife and wild places, and educate, influence and empower people. They manage 14 Nature Reserves and help others to manage their countryside sites. Their work is helping to secure the future of many important habitats and species, which might otherwise be lost.

Discover Yorkshire Coast

There’s always something happening on the Yorkshire Coast whatever the time of year, from tiny village shows to major internationally renowned festivals. They cover, of course, music, food, art, theatre and sport, but here on the coast, we can go one better, and bring you festivals of angling, sailing, rowing, surfing and maritime history – you don’t get those inland.

Loftus Library

More than just reference books and novels, there is a computer suite and a  private meeting room, there is often displays of the history of the area and numerous posters and leaflets of up and coming events including  walking leaflets and bus and refuge collection timetables. There is free use of newspapers and computers, with facilities on site to print and laminate documents for a small fee. There are also disabled toilet facilities on site.

Citizens Advice is available on the 2nd and 4th thursday of the month and the family history group meet on Thursday afternoons.

During the school summer holidays there is a childrens activity area and   a reading challenge activity, with various  awards in recognition of achievement.
